Hello hello hello!>
lets hope this doesnt get erased:) first and foremost, i want you to know that jord is alive and well. he doesnt know why his email didnt go through, he is pretty sad about it.. he did hurt his ankle though playing volleyball and would like an anlke brace of some sort.. >
i got some shots last week. i think i have gotten braver (hah or it might have been the huge line of elders, including the ones in my distrct all staring at me waiting in line to sit on the seat and have their turn getting turned into a pin cusion as well..) >
haha so i hear the young vacation was almost a success, we cant ever have a normal trip huh?? i am so sorry about the whole trailer thing, gr told me a little baout it, but i want to hear more and also about the whole week! i really really missed hearing from you! i was so greatful to hear you all are home safe (thank you grandma SO much for keeping me updated every day:) also, gr, you asked about calling cards, they actualyl have some in the bookstore here that i imagine are a pretty good deal?? ) hah i also heard we have a cat??? hah yuck! please tell me we can switch that to a dog!! >
sorry, this letter is filled with a ton of scatterbrained thoughts, but that is what happens when you only have 30 min to write. thank you mom for sending rys emails every week, and also elder judd and hoovers, it is so fun to hear of other missionary experiences and emails. its different when you are actually one! >
i weighed a middle suitcase with just my books inside. 47 lbs. ahhh!!! hah i dont know what im going to do, im going to try packing a bunch of stuff today and see what it is. that gives you an idea about how many language books we have! >
sunday night jord, our comps, and some sister from cambodia watched the josph smith movie in the huge devotional room. i have never appreciated Joseph Smith more in my life. what an amazing man and prophet that he was. we have watched it before (it is on every other week) but for somereason, the whole auditorium seems to feel the spirit stronger, it was so powerful. the cambodians had never seen it before, they were both bawling at the end. they speak quite a bit of english, though it is tricky understanding them. they also speak some thai, but it is even harder to understand!!! those in thailand, cambodia and that area that stay and serve in that area dont get to go the temple usually until after their missions. they were lucky enought to be able to go through here in provo for their first time on mon. how lucky are we to have SO MANY temples so close. it makes me feel horrible that i did not take as much advantage of that as i could have. i only have one more time of going:( !!!!!!!!!this morning we went as a district, and also the nong thais- which was 18 of us going to thailand- to the temple and did sealings (we were the children and had two couples inthere with us) that was an INCREDIBLE experience. we were all seated around the room, every seat filled. i have really come to love the temple. it will be sad next week when i have to say goodbye to the Lord house for 15 1/2 months. >
I have also developed a love and appreiation for the MTC. i feel bad for missionaries that only get to stay here for a few weeks. this place- what they call the "temple of learning"- is so spiritually packed, you learn so much, and develop lifetime friends. my district is amazing. we have had many teacher comment on how incredible our particular district is. i thkn that we were all placed together and have been learning so much so that we would be prepared to leave a week early. a week is a lot while in here, every week you learn so many new things. morg, your papers go in this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am SO excited for you!!! Jord and i were talking about that, how excited we were, and hoo amazing of a missionary you are going to be. Jord is getting sad that he is leaving, he has begun to love it here too. he keeps syaing how we are never going to have this experience again. i am so grateful to be here with him, i am going to miss him SO much! he has become one of my best friends. he is truly incredible, and has grown greatly. i cant wait to see him in 2 years!!! >
i cant remeber if i told you this last week, but one of the thai sisters that just came in got called the beg of march! another miracle that jord and i got to come in on the same day. >
Thank you so much for all that you do for me, all of you, especially mom and dad. you are incredible. i hope that someday i can be like you!!!! i love you so much! thank you for being the people that you are, and living the lives that you have. you have been perfect parents, i wouldnt change a thing. i hope all the birthdays were awesome! >
love, sister young
